A Leisure Centre for Winslow?

The Council is looking at whether it may be possible to have a leisure centre in Winslow.

I discovered this after asking the Cabinet Member for Leisure if Winslow could in future be considered as the location for such a venue.

Currently there are plans for a Sports Centre in the town as part of a Sports Hub plan.

But due to the way money from developers is going to be distributed this will enable a larger amount of money – called CIL money – from a number of developments to be used for infrastructure.

The Council will look at whether it would be possible to use this money to be put towards a leisure centre in Winslow in the future.

This would be an aspiration as the money isn’t available right now.

There will be an update in due course when the Council has had talks about the concept.
