Winslow Sports hub gets off the starting blocks

In the Full Council meeting I asked if there was any progress on the Sports Hub for Winslow.

I was delighted with the reply from Cabinet Member John Chilver that progress is finally being made.

He said the Department of Education has finally agreed for the former school building in Winslow to be sold off.

The money from this will be used to fund a sports hub in Winslow.

The next step is for Cabinet to give permission for the council to sell off the building.

Cllr Chilver also speculated whether Winslow could be the site for a sports centre that would be for the north of the county.

A decision would need to be made as to whether Winslow would be the right place to site such a facility.
