Winslow Residents Support Farmers Day of Unity

I supported three generations of the Heady family, farmers near to Winslow, who were opposing the Government’s cruel Inheritance Tax policy, outside The Bell.

Their family, like many other local farmers, would struggle to keep the farm in the family under the new policy.

Farmers, backed by the National Farmers Union, took their tractors to Winslow, Buckingham and Addington to demonstrate their opposition and were joined by locals who supported them. It was part of a Day of Unity to support farmers nationwide.

The major supermarkets have opposed the farming tax. Buckinghamshire Council led the way and now 30 local councils have joined them calling on the Government to do a U-turn.

Disappointing that at Westminster this week our local representative Callum Anderson MP supported the Government’s farm tax policy.
